Xiaomi is preparing for a major release, with new leaks revealing that the Xiaomi 17T series is just around the corner. According to Tecnoblog, the standard Xiaomi 17T has already passed through Brazil’s regulatory agency, Anatel, confirming its design and several key features ahead of its expected May 2026 launch.

The upcoming series marks a significant shift for Xiaomi’s “T” line as it moves further into the premium flagship market with high-end specs and a larger price tag.

A Massive Leap in Battery Life

The most exciting detail from these leaks is the battery capacity.

  • Xiaomi 17T: The standard model is expected to feature a huge 6,500mAh battery, a massive jump from the 5,500mAh seen in previous models.
  • Xiaomi 17T Pro: The Pro version is rumored to go even further with a 7,000mAh battery.
  • Charging: To power these large cells, the 17T will support 67W fast charging, while the Pro model is expected to support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Refined Design and Camera Upgrades

Live images from the Anatel certification show a familiar look but with subtle refinements.

  • New Layout: The camera island still houses three sensors, but the LED flash has been moved outside the main bump.
  • Lenses: While the megapixel counts may remain similar to last year, the 17T appears to feature a new periscope telephoto lens for better optical zoom.
  • Leica Branding: Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica continues, with the branding clearly visible on the back of the device.

Power and Performance

Both models will run on Android 16 with Xiaomi’s new HyperOS 3.

  • Xiaomi 17T: This model will likely use the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM.
  • Xiaomi 17T Pro: Benchmarks reveal the Pro will use the flagship Dimensity 9500, placing it directly in competition with the most powerful phones on the market.
  • Display: The Pro model is rumored to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, while the base model uses a slightly smaller 120Hz display.

Pricing and Availability

While Xiaomi has not officially announced prices, leaks suggest a price hike of about €100 compared to last year.

  • Xiaomi 17T: Rumored to start at €749.
  • Xiaomi 17T Pro: Rumored to start at €999.

With certifications already cleared in multiple countries, a global launch is expected as early as next month.

Editor's Take

My sister's phone is the Redmi Turbo 5 which is powered by the same processor as the leaked 17T, the MediaTek Dimensity 8500. While playing Wild Rift at 120FPS on the Turbo 5, after about 4 to 5 minutes the processor severely throttled its power usage. To deal with the heat, the system quickly lowered the frame rate to lock it at 90FPS and then increased it again. This constant cyclical change resulted in noticeable and annoying stuttering or freezing. So in my opinion, the 17T model may have the same issues with gaming, but as a new phone they can solve these issues by further optimizing the system and fixing bugs, even though the problem is hardware based.
